This Bread is Just Peachy!

I love to cook and bake. Except when I don't.

But lately I have been in the mood to cook for la familia. It's been fun! I was pondering this idea for maybe a week or two before I got around to it. It's just bread dough with a peach, almond and cream cheese filling. I thought it looked pretty, so I'm showing off by posting it.

Not that healthy, but it tasted good.

The Houston Astrozzzzzzz

Yesterday the Houston Astros played against the Chicago Cubs. We were given some great tickets. Exciting! Or not.Fourteen innings with only 3 runs just wasn't that interesting.

We had fun anyway.With friends,

with family,

even with a stranger from Chicago.

Plus there was the food.

Laughing at the baseball players was fun too. This one has an amusing name.
This one is a beginner, a baby baseball professional. This one is a favorite among teenage girls for some reason. I think it's his socks.
We did get excited about the Atros' big WIN - because we could finally go eat at the haunted restaurant. Is it just me, or is that a mysterious globe of light at the top of the stairs???

Her Majesty, The Poodle

Poor Trixie, she spent Tuesday at the groomer's and Wednesday at Banfield the dreadful vet clinic. She maintained her dignity through it all though. Here she is, looking beautiful as usual.
Awww she's the best little friend, (except when a stranger tries to pet her - then she's an embarrassment to the family!).

I baked this for breakfast today:
It's not only healthy, it's easy!
Bran and Fruit Loaf
The night before, combine and leave covered in refrigerator:
1 cup Kellog's All Bran
1 cup sugar
1 cup any kind of dried fruit
1 cup milk

In the morning, preheat the oven to 350
Add:
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
a pinch of salt

Pack it all in a greased loaf pan lined with foil
Bake for 1 hour.
Serve with butter or whipped cream cheese.
